Case overview
The Waltz at Lover’s Garden is a beautifully choreographed 360 degree dance film that brings motion, music, and space together in a poetic format. Captured entirely in motion, the video showcases dancers moving gracefully through a picturesque garden, immersing viewers in the performance from all angles. This 20 minute film was conceptualized and brought to life by the NUS Dance Synergy team, offering a seamless blend of choreography and narration. Designed to be viewed in the Central Library’s 360 degree theatre room, the experience makes immersive storytelling accessible to audiences without the need for a VR headset.
The Brief
The NUS Dance Synergy team sought to create a performance that transcended traditional stage boundaries, immersing the audience into the very heart of the dance. They wanted viewers to feel present and emotionally connected to the performers by placing them right in the middle of the garden. To do this, they needed a 360-degree video that not only captured the beauty of the performance but also maintained the intimacy and emotion of live dance accessible to all, even without VR gear.
Our Approach
VizioFly collaborated closely with the NUS Dance Synergy team to carefully plan and choreograph camera movements that would preserve the immersive quality of the dance. Using state of the art 360 degree video capture technology, we ensured the film maintained fluidity while navigating a dynamic outdoor set. Post production included spatial audio editing and seamless stitching to ensure the experience remained uninterrupted. The final film was deployed to a 360° theatre system in the NUS Central Library, making immersive dance accessible to a broader audience without needing a VR headset.
